2020
In the second decade of the 21st century, the existence of superior entities of a quasi-divine character, as omnipresent and all-powerful as they are incomprehensible and unfathomable, is no longer questioned. Their interference, participation and, ultimately, their ability to condition and shape the common life of human beings, either.
The only thing that has changed is the name by which these entities are known. For centuries they were called gods. Today they are known as algorithms.
In October 2020, the Malaga-based label Oigovisiones Label launched a call for participation in an album that would be titled CLOSE \ STARE Compilation: Acto de Fe. The members of Oigovisiones selected twenty themes from among the forty proposals received to be part of the digital version. One of those selected was Faith in the algorithm by Die Stadt.
The selection includes a wide spectrum of styles, from the calm ambient of Combray or Plugim to the dark ambient of Miguel Souto, through the electro-acoustic experiments of Dodecarmenismo and 1LL0 ~ or the delicate minimal electronics of David Área. A Pepo Galán not as friendly as usual, Sturm with a little modern classical gem, A.L. Guillen tamed by his guitar or Cravat‘s intimate synthie reverie.
The art design of the compilation is by plastic artist D.Darko and the graphic design by The Lacemaker.
